The bar chart below shows the passenger kilometres traveled by different means of transport in the UK in 1990 and 2000.

The given bar graph indicates how many kilometers the passenger went by a variety of methods of transport in the United Kingdom over the time period from 1990 to 2000.

Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the distance people travelled increased. Moreover, bus and train were two most favored means of transport in both years.

In 1990, the total recorded number of kilometers people went by all kinds of transport was 100 billion, which rose notably to roughly 116 billion in the next decade. In more detail, bus was the most popular option for people in 1999 when people travelled over 40 billion kilometers owing to it while standing at the second place, the figure for railway was slightly lower, at exactly 40 billion kilometers. Ten years later, both of them saw modest growths to the same points, at approximately 45 billion kilometers.

The remaining less favored categories witnessed marginal variations but different trends. While the figures for bike and motorbike had a modest decline but were still at around 5%, the data for airplane doubled from 4% to 8% during the time shown.
