The bar chart shows yearly average expenditure on clothing per head in the United States of America in three separate years: 1985, 1995 and 2005.
Overall, the spending of adults on clothes was significantly higher than that of children over the time shown. Moreover, all of the figures witnessed an upward trend.

The amounts of money spent on clothes by women in 1985 and 1995 were nearly the same at around $500, which significantly rose to roughly $650 in the next 10 years. Meanwhile, the figure for men, starting at a lower point which was almost $300, saw a notable growth to more than $400 in 1995 before declining to exactly $400 in 2005.

Regarding the spending of boys and girls, the figures in the first year of the period were equal at $100, followed by a slight increase a decade later. While the data for boys remained nearly static, the level of money girls used to buy clothes observed a remarkable climb with the figure reaching $700 in
